HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM) -- The continuing winter weather has local shelters running low on resources. Holland's rescue mission is in need of men's winter coats, because the colder temperatures are lasting longer this year.

Shelter directors say the rescue mission has also been over capacity for about a week and a half. They say many of the people who stay at the shelter spend a lot of time outdoors.

"A lot of our guys ride bikes to almost everywhere... and that's their mode of transportation, so they need to stay warm. When we're in cars and the weather takes longer to warm up, we're always in need of good men's winter coats," says Todd Krygsheld, Associate Director for the Holland Rescue Mission.

Shelter directors say there is enough supply for women and children's clothing, but they say sometimes donations for the men's items are overlooked.
