More than 650 people are expected to compete in the VanderLeek Cup Hospice Regatta.
HOLLAND, Mich. (WZZM)-The waters of Lake Macatawa will be covered in boats Saturday as the 8th annual VanderLeek Cup Hospice Regatta gets underway.
More than 650 people are expected to compete in the event, which will include a sailing regatta, dinghy poker run, grilled chicken dinner, raffle and auction.
All proceeds from the regatta will go to Hospice of Holland.
"The VanderLeek Cup Hospice Regatta is one of our two main fundraisers for the year. The money that we raise from this event goes directly to help individuals at the end of life who may have some financial needs or assistance requirements that are not covered by Medicaid, Medicare or private insurance," explained Denise Stancil, Hospice of Holland's director of business development.
The regatta starts Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
