GRAND RAPIDS, (WZZM) - Two kayakers were rescued from the Grand River in downtown Grand Rapids Saturday evening.
Authorities say the couple rented the kayaks and launched from Ah-Nab-Awen Park. A drop off near the Pearl Street Bridge caused the kayaks to rollover.
The man and the woman did not float away because the water was only waist deep, and were able to hold onto a nearby log.
Rescue crews were able to walk the couple to shore around 5:30 p.m.
