REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - The Wayne County prosecutor's office says no charges will be filed against state Treasurer Andy Dillon, who was accused of assault by his ex-wife.
Spokeswoman Maria Miller said Thursday there's "insufficient evidence" to take a case to court.
Carol Dillon accused Andy Dillon of assaulting her while drunk at her Redford Township home on July 13. Andy Dillon attorney James Harrington III says his client wasn't drunk or assaultive.
The Dillons subsequently sought personal protection orders against each other. A judge instead issued a one-year restraining order in July.
The Dillons can't have contact unless it involves a minor child.
