GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- A man, who police say robbed a downtown bank and tried to elude officers in a bathroom at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, has admitted to the crime.

After his arrest, police say the man admitted to robbing the Chase Bank at 200 Ottawa Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Police were told to be on the lookout for a thin white man with bad teeth, wearing a striped shirt.
Within one minute of the bank robbery, an officer spotted a man matching the description walking on Michigan Street near Bostrick Avenue NW. He fled into the hospital and was arrested in a lobby bathroom without incident.
A Spectrum Health spokesman say the man was unarmed and there was no disruption to patients or staff.
Investigators say the suspect has previously been charged for a 2006 Grand Rapids bank robbery.
