EAST GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM)- Keeland Johns was one of three West Michigan men killed in a car accident near Detroit on Sunday and today, family, friends and community members said goodbye.
The accident happened just after midnight on the Lodge Freeway, near Rosa Parks Boulevard. Police say a Monte Carlo was speeding down the roadway and crashed into the Toyota Corolla carrying Johns, and three other people.
Brian Kelly, his 31-year-old son Daniel, both from Kentwood, and 18-year-old Johns were all killed in the crash. The fourth person was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Johns played hockey and lacrosse during his time at the high school.
