David Lee Eaton
Steve Spadorcia(June 2013)
Grand Rapids - A Kent County judge says there is enough evidence to send a 68-year-old homeless man to trial for murder.
Tuesday, the judge heard testimony in the case against David Lee Eaton.
Eaton is accused of killing Steve Spadorcia, 52, on July 17. The prosecutor says Eaton used a box cutter.
Spadorcia's body was found in the 600 block of Bridge Street in Grand Rapids.
The Grand Rapids Press reports Sandra Fasburg took the stand and testified that Eaton stabbed Spadorcia, though she could not remember exactly where or when.
Autopsy results showed Spadorcia died from a combination of strangulation, a blow to the head and several cuts made by a blade like one on a box cutter.
If convicted, Eaton faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. Eaton is still in the Kent County Jail.
