The Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall
SPARTA, Mich. (WZZM) -- The Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall is in West Michigan, and you're invited to tour the tribute to America's fallen servicemen and women from the war.
The Wall will be escorted to Sparta by motorcycles. Anyone wishing to be part of the escort is asked to meet at Westgate Bowl in Comstock Park between 8 - 8:30 a.m. Thursday. The procession will go north on M-37 to Balyeat Field.
At 6:30 p.m. Thursday, organizers of the Wall's visit will hold opening ceremonies at Rogers Park, behind the civic center at 75 North Union. An honor guard will march to the wall at Balyeat Field.
The wall will be open for display 24 hours a day through September 2.
The wall is 252.4 feet -- just over half the size of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C.
