GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Students at Calvin College heard from their new leader Tuesday. President Michael Le Roy spoke at the school's convocation ceremony to kick off the start of the school year.
Le Roy welcomed students, and shared stories of his own religious journey. He spoke of the fall of 1986 when a professor took a group of students to study in Central America.
"I didn't know it at the time, but this earnest, honest professor was teaching me to love God in my learning and in ways that deepened my knowledge, restored my faith, and exceeded my imaginative capacity," said Le Roy.
Calvin College is welcoming its Largest incoming class since 2007. This year's class has more then 1,000 students.
