BENONA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- A drug enforcement team arrested two men and recovered dozens of marijuana plants following a sting operation in Oceana County.
Members of the State, Sheriff's, Chief's Enforcement of Narcotics Team (SSCENT) were staking out a house late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning where marijuana plants were being dried and processed for sale.
Officers followed two men who left the house in a vehicle, attempting to pull them over. The suspects fled police for about 10 miles, at times reaching speeds of over 100 m.p.h. Authorities arrested the men along 72nd Avenue north of Shelby Road.
SSCENT officers confiscated 60 marijuana stalks from the house along with other drying marijuana.
The suspects are both 21 years old and from Whitehall. They are lodged in the Oceana County Jail and face charges of possessing marijuana and fleeing and eluding police.
