LAWRENCE TWP., Mich. (WZZM) - A man had been charged with another drunk driving offense after police found him parked in the travel lane of I-94, asleep.
The Van Buren County Sheriff's Department reports they were called to westbound I-94 mile marker 49 at about 3:30am Sunday morning. There, they found Jose Robles-Guzman, 41, in his 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, unconscious. The vehicle's engine had been turned off and its lights were off. Deputies were able to wake him and determined he was intoxicated.
Deputies say that Robles-Guzman has six prior convictions for operating while intoxicated and is currently on probation for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense. This was also a second offense of driving with a suspended driver's license.
He's still in the Van Buren County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
