Muskegon, Mich. (January 2012)
MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) -- Lakeside residents should mark their calendars for Sunday October 27. That's the day city leaders have approved for razing the 10 story power plant at the former Sappi Paper mill.
The Melching Company from Nunica owns the closed mill and it must meet a list of requirements before the blast takes place. If it does, the building will be brought down with multiple explosive charges.
An exact time will be communicated to city residents in the days leading up to the demolition.
