Grand Rapids, Mich. (WZZM) U.S. lawmakers have not been able to reach a compromise to end the government shutdown in Washington, DC.
Ask around and you find a lot of people are upset Democrats and Republicans are unable to work together. Tuesday afternoon we went to Downtown Grand Rapids to ask -- "What Do You Think?" Most are frustrated, "They are like children who need their parents to make them play together in the sandbox," said Sherri Shaddox of Holland, "They are not playing well together and someone needs to give them a good lash."
Brian Denboer says the entire situation has him ready for a change, "It makes me surprised they're still in their own job, no other place could you show up, not do your job, and still have that job."
Steven Riley isn't affected but his friends are, "It doesn't affect me, just people close to me, who are not receiving funds, which in turn is effecting the economy."
