Sarah Knysz - arraignment 9/11/13
MANISTEE COUNTY (WZZM) - After waiving their preliminary hearings last week in Mason County, Eric and Sarah Knysz are both expected to be in court for their Manistee County hearings.
The two face a number of charges related to the shooting death of Michigan State Police Trooper Paul Butterfield.
Sarah Knysz briefly appeared in court Monday morning for her preliminary hearing in Manistee County. Her quick meeting with the judge resulted in the rescheduling of her hearing. She is expected back in court in two to three weeks. No specific reason was given for the rescheduling. In Manistee, Sarah is charged with unlawfully driving away from police, which carries a maximum five-year sentence.
Eric Knysz is also expected in court Monday afternoon. He is charged with transporting a stolen firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon, and unlawfully driving away from police. In Mason County, he is also charged with the murder of Trooper Butterfield.
We will have more information on Eric Knysz's Manistee County hearing once he appears in court.
