GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - When someone donates a house full of items from a family member who has passed away, the charity receiving the goods may expect to get some interesting things. And that is just what "In the Image" found in a recent donation.
In the Image in Grand Rapids recently received what may be a mastodon tooth.
John Timmer tells WZZM that In the Image cleared out a house in July where the possessions had been donated after a death. After packing up, they found what seemed to be a large tooth on the floor of their truck.
The charity has turned the tooth over to the Grand Rapids Public Museum for investigation. The tooth is eight to ten inches long and does have a crack in it. It also has what appears to be enamel on it.
