PAW PAW TWP., Mich. (WZZM) - A Paw Paw man faces attempted murder charges after viciously beating his ex-girlfriend, according to investigators.
Kane Daniel Reeves, 22, was arrested Thursday morning after a deputy found the woman, whose face was bloody, running from Reeves. He was able to get the woman behind him and was able to subdue Reeves.
Investigators determined that the woman, who has three children, had returned home and found Reeves, who is the children's father, waiting for her. The woman told deputies that Reeves told her she would die for leaving him.
The woman was taken to Bronson-Lakeview Hospital in Paw Paw for treatment for her injuries, including reconstructive surgery for injuries to her face.
Reeves was treated at the Van Buren County Jail for self-inflicted head injuries he received while slamming his face repeatedly into a plexiglass divider while in police custody.
Reeves was charged Friday with a count of Attempted Murder and Assault with Intent to Commit Murder.
