CUSTER, Mich. (WZZM) - Governor Rick Snyder has ordered U.S. Flags on all state buildings lowered to half staff in honor of a West Michigan fire chief who died this week.
John Allison the chief of the Custer Fire Department in Mason County, died on Monday. He suffered a heart attack shortly after working at the scene of a deadly accident earlier this month.
Snyder ordered flags to remain lowered until after Allison's funeral, scheduled in Ludington at 3:00 p.m.
