GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Police have identified a "significant person of interest" in the murder of a woman whose body was found this summer along the Plaster Creek.
On August 8, a person walking along a trail found Marie Nettles' body near Ken-O-Sha Elementary. Investigators say the 47-year-old woman had been strangled.

Demarco Marquis Carnegie, 28, has been linked to the homicide and the armed robbery of an Admiral Gas station on Kalamazoo Avenue hours after Nettles' death.
Carnegue was arrested eight days later in California, where he remains jailed.
Police say Carnegie has family in Grand Rapids and has been cooperative in the investigation. Right now there is no warrant for his arrest but Grand Rapids Police have filed extradition paperwork for the armed gas station robbery.
Investigators are awaiting a DNA sample before they possibly file charges in the murder.
