MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) -- The last season at Muskegon's current farmers market is in its final weeks.
The market on Yuba Street stays open until December; next May the market will reopen in the heart of downtown at one Market Street, next to the Muskegon Post Office.
The state of Michigan recently announced it would fund some of the project. Backers of the new market are stringing together private dollars to fund most of the project.
Small business owners near the new market hope they see more business and a buzz in downtown that only large crowds can create.
