Fremont, Mich. (Sept. 27, 2013)
FREMONT, Mich. (WZZM)- A Newaygo County woman is facing charges for allegedly taking a picture of an elderly patient at a medical care facility.
It's a story WZZM 13 News first reported back in September. Sources say the worker at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility took a picture of a patient, using the social media application, Snapchat. The worker is accused of then sending it to other workers. According to the felony complaint, the defendant is 31-year old Reida Osterman.
The Michigan State Police are investigating the case. According to the Newaygo County Prosecutors office, the woman is now facing two felony charges of eavesdropping and one felony charge of using a computer to commit a crime.
Osterman has not yet been arraigned, but a warrant has been signed for her arrest. WZZM 13 News contacted Osterman, but she would not comment.
As for her status at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility, the nursing home would only say that it had no comment on the case.
