GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) -- Police arrested two Indiana men suspected of robbing a Plainfield Avenue credit union Thursday morning.
Grand Rapids Police say around 9:10 a.m. one of the men walked into the Kent County Employee's Credit Union wearing a fake beard and a hooded sweatshirt. He showed a handgun and demanded money from the tellers, then drove off in a silver SUV.
Officers in the area attempted to stop the vehicle but briefly lost sight of the SUV. It was spotted on Eleanor Street NE, where neighbors reported seeing two black men run.
Police arrested one of the men on Eleanor Street and the other nearby on Philpot NE. Evidence of the robbery was recovered inside the suspect's vehicle.
The two suspects are residents of Fort Wayne, Indiana. and are 41 and 36 years old. They are being held at the Kent County Jail on robbery charges.
