HOLTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZZM) -- The owners of an Amish store near Fremont are rebuilding after a fire September 16. The Whispering Pines store was destroyed when an electrical problem sparked flames in the store's attic.

Now just six weeks later, a larger building is on the same site. The owners say they hope to reopen around Thanksgiving. Contractors and long-time customers say they are impressed with the speed at which the store is being rebuilt.
"It has been good for the area to have this store here and I think everyone you talk to in the area will be glad to see that it is coming back," said contractor Jim Newsted of Newsted Electric.
The new store is slightly larger and has a covered entrance. When it does open, about 10 employees will be able to return to work.
