LUDINGTON, Mich. (AP) - Officials say a 37-year-old worker has died in a conveyor belt accident aboard a barge in Lake Michigan while heading from Muskegon to Charlevoix.
The Ludington Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/17BBXyE ) the tug Undaunted and barge P.M. 41 were heading north around midday Sunday near Ludington when a call went out to the U.S. Coast Guard about the man's death. The accident is under investigation.
The man was identified as Michael Douglas of Pentwater.
The tug and barge docked Sunday afternoon in Ludington, about 80 miles northwest of Grand Rapids. The death is under investigation.
