Foxborough, MA (Sports Network) - New England Revolution midfielder Ousmane
Dabo announced his retirement on Monday after a 16-year professional career.
The 34-year-old spent time with top clubs in France and Italy as well as with
Manchester City in England before joining the Revolution in February.
However, he was limited to just three appearances in league play and one in
the U.S. Open Cup for the Revs because of injury issues.
"This is a very tough decision for me, and I'm frustrated to have not been
able to help the Revolution more," Dabo said. "I've had some physical issues
that I haven't been able to heal, so I've decided to retire and release the
club from my contract. I very much wish the New England Revolution all of the
best and thank them for everything."
