GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- Studies show kids spend more time in front of the computer and playing video games which means less activity.  One sport that has suffered because of that is youth golf, nationally and here locally.

So this weekend, Maple Hill Golf in Grand Rapids is making an effort to bring those kids back to the sport.  At the golf equipment sale they're not only giving away a three club golf set to anyone 15-years and under, but kids can also get a pass to hit a bucket of balls at the driving range every day of the year for free.

Bob Kitchen with Maple Hill Golf Course says, "The sport is shrinking slightly, not a ton, but we just want to get more kids involved.  It's a great sport, it's an honesty sport, there's no teammates, there's no referee, it's just you and the golf course and it's a beautiful thing for kids to be involved in."

You can take your children to Cornerstone College starting today from 9am - 4pm and Saturday from 9am - 4pm.  For adults there is more than $2-million in equipment deals.
