Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - Yankees left-hander Andy Pettitte, expected to
miss at least six week with a broken ankle, went on the 60-day disabled list
Thursday.
The veteran left-hander suffered a fractured fibula after taking a hard one-
hopper off the outside of his left ankle during Wednesday's game against the
Indians.
Pettitte, who came out of retirement to pitch this season, will need crutches
and a boot during recovery. He was hurt on the same day staff ace CC Sabathia
went on the 15-day DL with a strained groin muscle.
Pettitte is 3-3 with a 3.22 ERA in nine starts this season.
New York brought up right-handers Adam Warren and Ryota Igarashi from Triple-A
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
