BOSTON (DETROIT FREE PRESS) - Dustin Pedroia and Will Middlebrooks each hit two-run home runs to power the Boston Red Sox past the Detroit Tigers, 7-3, tonight at Fenway Park.
Tigers starter Max Scherzer (10-6) allowed five earned runs in 6 1/3 innings and took the loss for Detroit.
Austin Jackson led off the game with a home run, his 11th of the season, but the Red Sox came back with two in the bottom half of the inning.
The game stayed tied at 2-2 until Pedroia's blast in the bottom of the sixth.
The Tigers fell to 2-5 on their current road trip.
