State College, PA (Sports Network) - Penn State wide receiver Shawney
Kersey has left the team for personal reasons, the school announced via
Twitter on Wednesday.
Kersey, a redshirt junior, is the 12th player to depart from the team since
the NCAA handed down sanctions on the football program in response to the
Jerry Sandusky child sex-abuse scandal.
Kersey caught six passes for 44 yards through the first two games of the
season -- both losses.
