Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Jamey Carroll's RBI single in the top of the 10th inning helped the Minnesota Twins take a 2-1 win over the Detroit Tigers in the rubber match of a three-game set.

Pinch-hitter Denard Span began the frame with a pinch-hit single to right field off Jose Valverde (3-4). Span moved to second when Ben Revere grounded out and scored on Carroll's single to center field.

Glen Perkins worked a 1-2-3 bottom half and notched his 14th save of the season for Minnesota, which swept the doubleheader after registering a 10-4 victory over Detroit earlier Sunday.

Jared Burton (2-1) tossed a scoreless ninth to pick up the win.

Miguel Cabrera recorded an RBI double for Detroit, which fell a game behind the Chicago White Sox for first place in the AL Central.

The Twins won the first game of the doubleheader, 10-4.
