New York, NY (Sports Network) - Stanford remained the top team in women's college basketball, while Connecticut and Baylor also maintained the next two spots in the latest Associated Press poll.

The Cardinal again received 22 first-place votes and a total of 978 points from a nationwide media panel, keeping the top spot for a fourth straight week.

Connecticut picked up 16 No. 1 votes -- one fewer than last week -- and 968 points, while Baylor earned an extra first-place vote and now has two to keep a strong hold of the third spot.

Duke, Notre Dame, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisville, California and Maryland complete this week's top 10. Notre Dame held on to the fifth spot despite a 73-61 loss to Baylor last week.

The second 10 consists of Penn State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, UCLA, Purdue, Oklahoma State, Dayton, Texas, North Carolina and Ohio State. Texas dropped six spots from 12th after a 62-42 loss to UCLA on Saturday.

Miami, Kansas, Texas A&M, South Carolina and West Virginia are the last five teams ranked this week. Texas A&M, South Carolina and West Virginia are the newcomers, replacing Iowa State, Florida State and Nebraska.
