Ogden, UT (Sports Network) - Scott Bamforth nailed seven shots from 3-point
range and scored 23 points as the Weber State Wildcats ran past the Cal Poly
Mustangs, 85-43, in the first round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament at
Dee Events Center.
Kyle Tresnak netted 20 points, Davion Berry added 12 and Joel Bolomboy tacked
on 10 for Weber State (27-6).
Dylan Royer and Zach Gordon each registered eight points as the leading
scorers for Cal Poly (18-14).
Bamforth and Tresnak combined for 30 points in the first half. The Wildcats
shot 67.9 percent from the field during the period, while holding the Mustangs
to just seven field goals, and carried a 45-18 lead into the break.
The second half was more of the same as the Wildcats coasted behind a 51.9
percent shooting performance in the last 20 minutes.
Weber State had a 38-24 edge on points in the paint and outscored Cal Poly,
30-9, from beyond the arc.
