ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WZZM) -- It's been 20 years since the Michigan Wolverines have been to the NCAA Final Four, but team members say they feel lucky to make the trip to Atlanta in 2013.

The Wolverines defeated the Florida Gators 79-59 Sunday in the South regional championship.  They will play Syracuse Saturday at the Georgia Dome.

The team held its final practice Tuesday night at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor.  The Wolverines will fly to Atlanta Wednesday.

Many of the players and coaches were thinking about how far the program has come.

"It's just fairy tale, a story we'll never forget," says Josh Bartelstein, the team captain.  "It's been an unbelievable ride.  We're so lucky to be part of something bigger than myself.  All of us feel that way, being able to represent this great school and the alumni."

"We've never been here," says sophomore guard Trey Burke.  "We'll do what we need to do to get win on Saturday."

"I'm just really happy this could happen at this university, with this coaching staff," says head coach John Beilein.
