GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - The Fifth Third River Bank Run is facing some news logistical challenges in the weeks leading up to the race.
Organizers Monday said they will monitor the condition of the 25k race course up until May 9th and then make a determination on whether to keep the current course or go to a back-up plan. Some of the course is currently under water due to flooding.
Also, in light of the bombing at the Boston Marathon, runners and spectators are being asked to limit what items they bring along. Runners are also asked to wear blue and yellow in honor of the victims in Boston.
The race is May 11th.
