Ferris State football holds Grand Rapids youth camp

Ferris State head coach to throw first pitch

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The Ferris State football program held a free youth football camp at Houseman Field Thursday, July 13.

It was the first youth camp in Grand Rapids for the Bulldogs under head football coach Tony Annese and more than 40 players volunteered to help out.

146 kids from kindergarten to 8th grade showed up and Ferris State hopes it can become a yearly event.

"Some of the things we talk about with our players is learning to be a giver and not taker," Annese said. "So for our guys to get to experience this and do some community service in the middle of the summer on a hot Thursday afternoon is a great thing for us."
