Flint athlete to be honored with ESPY Award

SOMI athlete awarded at ESPYs

The ESPY Awards air Wednesday, July 12, right here on WZZM 13.

The annual awards ceremony recognizes individual and team athletic achievements -- and this year, a Michigan athlete will receive a special honor.

Special Olympics gold medalist Dalvin Keller is a volleyball player from Flint and he is one of a handful of Special Olympics athletes from across the country receiving an honorary ESPY award.

This is all part of ESPN honoring the late Special Olympics Founder, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, as this year's Arthur Ashe Courage award recipient.
