Grand Rapids Griffins fall to Syracuse, 5-3, in Calder Cup Finals

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The Syracuse Crunch scored three times in the first period and went on to beat the Grand Rapids Griffins, 5-3, in Game 3 of the American Hockey League’s Calder Cup Finals on Wednesday night in Syracuse, N.Y.

The Griffins lead the best-of-seven championship series, 2-1. Game 4 is Friday night in Syracuse.

Cory Conacher finished with one goal and one assist for the Crunch. Matt Taormina had two assists.

Tyler Bertuzzi had a goal and an assist for Grand Rapids. Dominic Turgeon and Kyle Criscuolo also scored. Jared Coreau made 27 saves.
