13 On Your Sidelines: Vote for the week 8 MVP

WEST MICHIGAN - There’s only one more week of the high school football's regular season left.

Before we turn our attention to week nine, let’s celebrate the best of the best from week eight with this week’s Mercy Health 13 On Your sidelines MVP candidates.

This week, our three candidates are players who are celebrating division championships this season.

And the nominees are …

Zac Saltzgaber - Byron Center The quarterback passed for one touchdown and ran for four others as he racked up 235 all-purpose yards in a win over Zeeland East, helping the Bulldogs clinch a share of their first league title since 2009.

David Kruse - Lowell The junior quarterback rushed for 256 yards and three touchdowns, while throwing for 164 yards and was clutch when he needed to be, again rallying the Red Arrows from a second half deficit as they improved to a perfect 8-0.

Brady Luttrull - Oakridge The lone starter back on offense from a year ago, Lutrull finished with 179 yards rushing on 27 carries and was 12 of 17 passing for 149 yards. The senior added two touchdowns on the ground in the fourth quarter to help his team rally from a 14-point hole and win the West Michigan Conference.

Voting will be open through 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016.

The week eight winner will be announced Friday night on 13 On Your Sidelines.
