Godwin Heights 32, Hesperia 30

WYOMING, MICH. - Wyoming Godwin Heights and Heaperia matched up in a battle of two teams coming off big week 1 wins.

The Wolverines took a 20-14 lead into the half before Hesperia opened up the second half with a long Gage Balkema run setting up a short Touchdown for Kanin Witte to give the Panthers a 22-20 lead.

Godwin Heights responded with a long drive of their own to retake the lead on a short Chris Palmer TD run.  Hesperia would fumble on their next possession.  The Wolverines would capitalize with a one play drive as Suriya Davenport found Kelvyn Valdez in the endzone for a 32-22 lead.

Hesperia would score early in the fourth to cut the lead to two points, and would threaten again with about five minutes left.  The Wolverine defense stood tall with a fourth down stop inside the 10 yard line as they move to 2-0 with a 32-30 win.
