GRAND RAPIDS - Caledonia and Grand Rapids Christian were both looking to move to 2-0 on the young season Friday night. The Eagles got on the board first with a 47 yard touchdown run from Matt Ellis for a seven nothing lead after one. A 9 yard touchdown pass from Michael Silveri to Cam Robinson got the Scots within a point 7-6 at the half.
The Eagles took control in the third quarter scoring the first 21 points. Isaac Dykema connected for two scores the first with Darius Barfield from 43 yards out and again to Emmett Warners from 40 yards out. They were sandwiched around a Davaunte' Dickens touchdown as Christian led 28-6. A 23 yard Silveri to Kyle Murphy scoring pass cut the lead to 28-12 after three.
The fourth quarter saw both teams score once Christian on Dickens second touchdown of the night and Brock Schrader scored for Caledonia, making the final score Christian 35 Caledonia 19.
Dykema finished with 266 yards passing for the Eagles. Caledonia was lead by Silveri's 98 yards rushing and 90 yards passing.
