Lowell uses big first half to beat East Grand Rapids

EAST GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Two longtime rivals from the OK White met Friday night as nonconference opponents. Lowell traveled to East Grand Rapids. The Pioneeers are now a member of the OK Gold.

Lowell jumped out to an early lead when Brady Douma returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown to give the Red Arrows a 7-0 lead early.

David Kruse would use his arm and his feet as Lowell expanded the lead to 19-0.  Early in the second quarter he found Addison Buckius for a touchdown, and added a short scoring run.

East Grand Rapids threatened late in the half, but the Red Arrow defense came up with a fourth down stop. Kruse then exploded for a 99 yard scoring run to extend the lead to 26.

Lowell cruised in the second half, winning 34 to 7.
