MUSKEGON, MICH - The Muskegon Big Reds are moving on to the Division Three football semifinals after their second victory of the season over Byron Center. Muskegon forced four turnovers in building a 42-0 halftime lead.
Kalil Pimpleton opened the scoring for the Big Reds with a three yard scoring run. Da'vion McCall's 10 yard touchdown run pushed the lead to 14-0. The Muskegon defense extended the lead to 21 on a three yard interception return by Roc McDonald. A two yard run by La'darius Jefferson pushed the lead to 28-0.
Jefferson's second touchdown, this time from five yards out made it 35-0. Pimpleton's seven yards scoring run made it 42-0 at the half.
The Bulldogs scored first in the second half on a five yard run by Josh Saltzgaber making the score 42-7. Pimpleton's third scoring run, this one from 59 yards extended the lead to 48-7. The third quarter ended with the Big Reds forcing the fifth Bulldog turnover of the game. Lonnie Clark's seven yard touchdown run pushed the lead to 55-7. Clinton Jefferson finished the scoring with a 30 yard run as Muskegon wins big 62-7.
The Big Reds move on to face Edwardsburg in the semifinals next Saturday.
