Muskegon pulls away to beat East Grand Rapids for District title

MUSKEGON - East Grand Rapids(9-2) and Muskegon(10-1) net for the third straight year on Friday night for a District title. The Pioneers were riding a seven game winning streak, while the Big Reds had won eight in a row going into the matchup.

The Pioneers took a 3-0 lead in the first quarter on a Joe Bolea field goal.  

In the second quarter Kalil Pimpleton's touchdown run would give the Big Reds a 7-3 lead.  A La'Darius Jefferson touchdwon would extend the lead to 14-3 at the half.

East Grand Rapids would cut the lead to 14-10 in the third on a Hub Bejna run.  That was as close as the Pioneers would get as Pimpleton and Jefferson each added touchdown runs to make the final score 28-10.
