EAST KENTWOOD, MICH - The Rockford Rams clinched a share of the OK Red Football title with a 45-7 win over East Kentwood Friday night.
The Falcons opened the scoring with a 22 yard scoring toss from Kyle Dent to Andre Welch. Rockford's Jason Whittaker evened the score at 7 with a nine yard run.
Rockford scored 14 points in the second on a Nolan Darby run and a Josh Patterson interception return, taking a 21-7 lead into the locker room.
The Rams dominated the second half outscoring East Kentwood 24-0. Nolan Darby, Nate Curtis, and Austin Klein all had scoring runs in the second half, and Eric Zeboor hit a 25 yard field goal in the third.
Rockford improves to 5-0 in OK Red action and 6-2 overall. East Kentwood is 2-3 and 4-4. The Rams visit Hudsonville next week, trying to clinch the OK Red outright, and East Kentwood looks to keep their playoff hopes alive as they visit Caledonia.
