Saugatuck's title dreams dashed

The Pirates are district champs and Saugatuck finishes 10-1.

WESTPHALIA, MI - A rematch of 2015's district final between Saugatuck and Pewamo-Westphalia was played Saturday in Westphalia and the P-W walked away winners 25-19.

The Pirates jumped out to an early 6-0 lead but Saugatuck responded as Cole Hartman punched one in the end-zone, after the PAT it was 7-6 Indians.
 
The home team would then respond on offense. P-W's quarterback Jimmy Lehman linked up with Logan Hangesbach for the score. Pirates back on top 12-7.
 
The Pirates would then add to it's lead to take a two touchdown advantage until later in the third, when the Indian's Jackson Shriver found Blake Dunn for 6. Saugatuck was then down 18-13. 
 
The game would eventually come down to a fourth and 14 with 45 second left. Shriver tried to link up with Dunn for a big gain down the right sideline, but Logan Hangesbach picked off the pass. The Pirates would then kneel out the clock. 
 
P.W repeats as district champs and Saugatuck finishes (10-1).
