Muskegon Big Reds big win over Detroit Catholic Central

MUSKEGON, Mich (WZZM) -- The season opener for the D1 and D2 state runners-up Friday night was a back and forth battle.

The Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks started the second quarter with a touchdown, but the Muskegon Big Reds answered only two minutes later.

The score was tied at 7 until the fourth quarter.

Muskegon's Shawn Pfenning scored to give the Big Reds a lead for most of the fourth.

Victor Dirita tied the game for the last time with a pass from Joseph Fanning.

Alezay Coleman ran 40 yards with just over one minute left in the game to score the winning touchdown.

Muskegon takes game one 21-14.
