Could nasty weather postpone Detroit Tigers Opening Day?

Baseball is back! Well, it's supposed to be for the Detroit Tigers, beginning Monday afternoon in Chicago.

But mother nature may have something to say about that.

Weather.com predicts a nasty, wet day in the Chicago area, with the city receiving rain showers all day, starting around 5 a.m. And the forecast gets worse as the day unfolds.

Thunderstorms are set to begin around 4 p.m. in Chicago (5 p.m. in Detroit), after the scheduled first pitch for the Tigers and White Sox (4:10 p.m. in Detroit, FSD). There is at least an 80% chance of precipitation from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with rain continuing through the night and into the early morning Tuesday.

The temperature is expected to be 47 degrees by the scheduled first pitch.

The teams are off Tuesday, and continue their three-game series on Wednesday and Thursday. Both games are scheduled for 2:10 p.m.
