Whitecaps fall to Loons in Midwest League playoffs

Saige Jenco hit a two-run single in the seventh inning, leading the Great Lakes Loons to a 4-1 win over the West Michigan Whitecaps on Sunday.

The single by Jenco, part of a three-run inning, gave the Loons a 3-1 lead before Brendon Davis hit an RBI single later in the inning.

In the top of the second, West Michigan grabbed the lead on a single by David Gonzalez that scored Josh Lester. Great Lakes answered in the fourth inning when Jake Henson hit an RBI single, scoring Ibandel Isabel.

Ivan Vieitez (5-4) got the win with three innings of scoreless, two-hit relief while Toller Boardman (8-5) took the loss in the Midwest League game. Shea Spitzbarth recorded his seventh save of the season.

Jose Azocar singled three times for the Whitecaps.
