Alexis Huntey (9) helped lead Morley-Stanwood to the Class C state title.

(WZZM) WZZM and Meijer are pleased to recognize Morley-Stanwood High School senior Alexis Huntey as our Meijer Scholar Athlete of the Week for the week of November 28th.

Alexis just completed her senior season in volleyball as the runner-up for Michigan's Miss Volleyball award and led the Mohawks to the Class C state championship. "The volleyball team is a family," Alexis recently told WZZM. "(Winning the state championship) means so much. You almost want to do this for your parents and your coaches and the community more than you want to do it individually."

An exceptional student, Alexis carries a 3.98 grade point average and serves as president of the Morley-Stanwood High School student council. She will attend George Washington University in the nation's capital where she says she intends to study political science.

Congratulations on your achievements Alexis and keep up the great work!
