Lowell High School senior Morgan Groom will pitch at Harvard next year
LOWELL, Mich. (WZZM)- WZZM and Meijer are pleased to recognize Lowell High School senior Morgan Groom as our Meijer Scholar Athlete of the Week for the week of April 23rd.
Morgan is a fantastic student at Lowell sporting a 4.25 grade point average taking mostly advanced placement courses. She's been accepted to Harvard University next year where she intends to study medicine or law. "It's amazing," Morgan told WZZM this week. "(The Harvard campus) is better than anything I've ever imagined. I feel at home out there. It's quite a change from Lowell which is small and rural, but I love the big city. It's really awesome."
On the softball diamond, Morgan has proven to be nearly unhittable at times. She recently struck out 20 batters in a game and pitched for the District 9 team in the Little League World Series last summer in Kalamazoo.
She tells us away from school and softball her favorite activity is hiking in western Canada with her family each summer.
Congratulations to Morgan Groom from WZZM and Meijer!
