Muskegon High School senior Antwan Billings (74).
Muskegon, Mich. (WZZM) WZZM and Meijer are pleased to recognize Muskegon High School senior Antwan Billings as our WZZM/Meijer scholar athlete for the week of October 15th.
Antwan anchors the line for the undefeated, number one ranked team in division two, the Muskegon Big Reds. He has started every game since his junior year and was named all-conference last season. This year's Big Reds squad is shaping up as one of the best with a perfect 8-0 record facing some of the best teams anywhere in the state. "Living up to the expectations of the '08 team, the '04 team, the '06 team (all state champions), you always look up to them. You want to be as good as them. The coaches always tell us that we're better or as good as that team in '08. And we're trying to figure out if we are or not."
Antwan works just as hard in the classroom. He carries a 3.9 grade point average and is ranked in the top ten in his senior class academically. He tells WZZM he would like to play football and study engineering in college. He currently has an offer at Ferris State and is receiving other interest.
WZZM and Meijer congratulate Antwan Billings for his hard work and wish him continued success!
